Keep Rockland Beautiful

Keep Rockland Beautiful leads efforts to clean, protect, and beautify Rockland’s environment by educating and empowering people to share in the care and stewardship of our communities.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS: Our Earth B.E.A.T. program engages K-8 students in hands-on activities on local ecology, waste reduction, and water/energy conservation. Rockland P.L.U.S. involves high school students from across the county in planning for sustainable communities with a culminating symposium supported by 30+ professionals with backgrounds from municipal planning to LEED design.

COUNTY-WIDE CLEANUPS: Our Great American Cleanup and Fall Waterways campaigns rally and support 4,000+ volunteers who remove tons of debris from our streets, parks, and waterways. Cleanups raise awareness and bring home the value of community service.

BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS: Youth and artists who participate in KRB’s Artful Receptacle program turn ordinary trash cans into works of public art. We also work together with local civic and government groups to support revitalization projects.

KRB’s growth and success over the past 18 years is built on the dedication and passion of our volunteers, Board members and staff. Collaborative partnerships with municipalities, agencies, schools, businesses, and other non-profit organizations are at the heart of our work to foster a healthy, sustainable county.
